News Release….March 19, 2009
The Hairston Motorsports and Racing 2007 Pro Street GTO with a 377 CID twin turbo Duttweiler built GM small block ran an incredible 6.23 et in the second round of qualifying at the recently completed PSCA Spring Break race at the California Speedway, Fontana, CA. Many believe that this is the quickest Pro Street elapse time in history with the car weighing the required 2650 pounds with driver, Clint Hairston.
Crew Chief, Jake Hairston commented, “we have seen a substantial improvement in our car’s performance over the last few months. We’ve been working very close with the Crower people on their 10” triple disk clutch set-up and installed an improved version of Precision Turbo’s 88 MM billet compressor wheel turbos. Boost is up and backpressure is down.” Jake also said that, “our switch to a Ness valved Penske shock has definitely given us better control of our wheel speed.”
The Hairston Team’s next event will be the West Coast Hot Rod Association’s April 4-5 race at the Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA.
